Reorientation

2019-2020

Reorientation

This series explores the instability of identity through images in which the body appears dislocated from familiar spatial or social coordinates. Unlike the artist’s digitally constructed works, these photographs are produced through carefully staged self-performance within real environments.

Everyday spaces are subtly disrupted, creating scenes in which the subject appears both present and estranged. This spatial ambiguity evokes moments that feel simultaneously familiar and unsettling, echoing the uncanny tension between recognition and disorientation.

Through these images, Reorientation reflects on the psychological and social negotiation of identity within shifting cultural frameworks.
