My Luxuria

2005-2008

My Luxuria

My Luxuria takes its title from the Latin term for lust and excess, exploring the cultural construction of desire through staged and digitally constructed imagery. Across the series, the body appears within symbolic environments that evoke both intimacy and display, reflecting how sexuality is shaped by visual traditions and cultural narratives.

The images deliberately oscillate between realism and artifice, creating scenes that feel both seductive and slightly estranged. This tension produces moments of cognitive dissonance that resonate with ideas of the uncanny and the absurd.

Rather than presenting desire as purely personal, the series situates it within a wider visual economy in which fantasy, representation, and social expectation intersect.
